#لیبرالیسم با هر رقیبی آماده مذاکره و همزیستی و با هر شرایط پیش بینی نشده‌ای آماده‌ی توان آزمایی‌اند. مشروط بر این‌که اصول و ارکانی چون امنیت ، رفاه ، پیشرفت ، آزادی ، تعادل و .. مورد انکار یا تهدید قرار نگیرد. به تعبیر دیگر قدرت لیبرالیسم و مدرنیته ، ناشی از حقیقت یا حقانیت شان (در معانی کلاسیک این واژه ها) نیست ، بلکه ناشی از تطابق کلی آنها با نیازهای انسان و تلاش در جهت برآوردن بهتر و بیشتر نیازها و نیز انعطاف کافی در برخورد با تحولات است.
