▫️بیچاره مذاکره‌کنندگان پرویی که پنج سال پیش توافقی را با شرکت بزرگ بنادر حمل و نقل کاسکو امضا کردند. توافق دربارۀ بندر چانکی در نزدیکی پایتخت بود، جایی که قرار بود به یک اَبَربندر و به قول مدیر کاسکو، «دروازۀ آمریکای جنوبی به آسیا» تبدیل شود. اما حالا که عملیات ساخت این بندر عظیم در حال اتمام است، مقامات این بندر پرویی به یک «خطای مدیریتی» اذعان کردند.
▫️به نوشته فارن پالیسی، دولت پرو تصور می‌کرد که این غول حمل‌و‌نقل چینی از این بندر که اکثریت مالکیتش را در اختیار دارد، صرفاً استفاده خواهد کرد نه اینکه حق انحصاری استفاده از آن را داشته باشد. اما طی مذاکرات، کاسکو به‌نوعی دقیقاً همین حقوق را به دست آورد. حالا شرکت بنادر پرو به دنبال راهی برای فسخ این حق انحصاری است و می‌گوید مرتکب اشتباهی شده است.
