Как выяснилось, один из мужчин на спор спрыгнул с моста. Свидетелем безрассудного поступка стал рабочий, трудившийся около Шелепихинского моста. Быстро скинув с себя одежду, он прыгнул в реку и поплыл к тонувшему человеку. Однако не рассчитал своих сил и ему самому потребовалась помощь спасателей.
После проведённых реанимационных мероприятий виновник происшествия в сопровождении врачей отправлен в медицинское учреждение. Рабочий от госпитализации отказался и был передан прибывшим родственникам.
