در پی وقوع یک سانحه خونین ترافیکی در شاهراه هرات – اسلام‌قلعه، دست‌کم ۷۶ تن جان خود را از دست داده و سه تن دیگر به‌شدت زخمی شده‌اند.
این رویداد شام روز گذشته زمانی رخ داد که یک موتر مسافربری نوع ۵۸۰، که از اسلام‌قلعه به‌سوی کابل در حرکت بود، با یک موتورسایکل و یک موتر باربری نوع مازدا برخورد کرده و در پی آن دچار حریق شد.
