4 декабря Дума края назначила Сергея Безденежных, депутата, избранного по Тополевскому одномандатному округу номер 4, сенатором в верхнюю палату Федерального Собрания.
Назначение влечёт досрочное прекращение полномочий депутата и проведение дополнительных выборов по округу 13 сентября 2020 года.
