تسمح ميزة "العقود الذكية" (smart contracts) على سلسلة كتل إيثريوم للمخترقين برفع برنامج الاختراق ومن ثمّ تحديثه في أي وقت، دون أن يكون هناك إمكانية تقنية لحذفه أو تعطيله من أي جهة في الدنيا (إلا عبر تعطيل الشبكة نفسها).
