We can hardly be touched by ceramic figurines the same way we were when seeing the works by Yuri Lvov we have written about here. However, this 1958 series created by Lisa Larson, a prominent Swedish ceramist, for Gustavsberg did impress us. The set is called “ABC girls” (for the first letters of the girls’ names) and consists of five girls: four of them (Amalia, Beata, Charlotta, and Emma) are shown reading books and the fifth girl (Dora) is standing without a book, but with a cool air about her.
