28 августа прошла финальная сессия Собрания представителей г. Владикавказ VII созыва.
Благодарю всех избирателей и жителей Владикавказа за оказанное доверие. Благодарю депутатов седьмого созыва за проделанную в течение этих 5 лет плодотворную работу. То единство, сплоченность и умение слушать друг друга, которые мы проявляли из раза в раз, принимая разные, но важные решения, показывают, что здесь работали депутаты Собрания представителей, которые отличаются с профессиональной точки зрения.

In 2014, Pavel Durov fled the country after allies of the Kremlin took control of the social networking site most know just as VK. Russia's intelligence agency had asked Durov to turn over the data of anti-Kremlin protesters. Durov refused to do so. In addition, Telegram's architecture limits the ability to slow the spread of false information: the lack of a central public feed, and the fact that comments are easily disabled in channels, reduce the space for public pushback. He floated the idea of restricting the use of Telegram in Ukraine and Russia, a suggestion that was met with fierce opposition from users. Shortly after, Durov backed off the idea. Individual messages can be fully encrypted. But the user has to turn on that function. It's not automatic, as it is on Signal and WhatsApp. A Russian Telegram channel with over 700,000 followers is spreading disinformation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine under the guise of providing "objective information" and fact-checking fake news. Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts.
