Pagan Revivalism
Why I am a Revivalist? Before I answer this question, I am going to examine & critique the other two first. New-Age Heathenry isn't necessarily new. Today, you will find self-proclaimed Heathens mixing Germanic Heathenry with any number of foreign or new…
I am curious as to which you in the audience follow. Whether you follow Heathenry, as I do, or another ancestral faith, I would personally like to know where you all stand amongst the three schools of thought?

Recently revisited the great folk and elders Askjel & Birte of Urweg and got a silver replica of this horse-headed swastika brooch relic!
Part of revival is breathing life back into the ancient ways of the blessed ancestors. To believe as they did. To live as they did. To eat what they did. To carry ourselves as they did. Even to wear what they did!
Preserving our sacred relics is a must, but remaking them and wearing them like our forefathers is the epitome of Pagan Revivalism!

The "principled loser" is the child of post-folkish theologies. Christianity, Platonism, various flavours of post-Vedic Hindiusm, etc. All say some version of "we are not of this world": the true self, the higher self, this belongs to the realm of transcendence.
"What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Mark 8:36) No. Gain the world or die in the attempt. Or else you'll be judged as a coward and fed to the devouring serpent.
"Better to suffer wrong than to do wrong." (Plato, Gorgias) No. Your enemies are outside all morality. You owe them nothing.
Folkish theologies demand victory in this world. Losing is a moral failure. Principled losing is just losing. Because folkishness has no regard for principle. Only for taboo.

On Conjecture & Understanding
Recently I was forwarded a post which made me laugh, but it also serves as a reminder about the difference between conjecture & understanding, especially when we encounter something we don't understand about the past.
If 2,000 years from now QR codes were rediscovered, what would our descendants think of them? Would it be considered a language, a ritual sigil for magic? Would it just be considered an odd trend of the 21st century? Imagine how many doctorates and years of research spent on competing theories will emerge because of these links to old internet information.
It makes me think of debates about some artifacts we don't quite understand in archeology. About how many ideas and even conspiracies spawn from symbols or strange looking artifacts. The solution is being honest about whether something is conjecture or it is understood. Conjecture & debates will always happen as we seek to learn more of the past. But there are some things we may never understand & that's okay.

One thing folk may find interesting is the presence of 'staveless runes!'
This runic writing system is often overlooked, but it appears in several places in the late Viking Age. They are often characterized as the final simplification of runic writing. I.e.
Elder Futhark --> Younger Futhark --> Staveless
This writing system reminds me of a couple of things:
1. It bares a little resemblance to the Celtic Ogham writing system.
2. Some traditional runes are mixed with the staveless variety which shows there was overlap between the two runic systems.
3. As we've stated before on the channel, complex writing systems become more simplified over time.
4. If it continued, perhaps it could have led to a runic cursive, or perhaps was a proto-runic cursive.
5. These look very much like the letters and numbers off of digital displays 👀 If christianization not occurred, could we have been writing in a form of staveless runes?
Either way I hope you all find these as fascinating as I do!

Here's an example of how the staveless runes could be used today, and it does fit a futuristic or retro style aesthetic 😎
What do you all think? Obviously, the traditional Elder Futhark will always have a place in Germanic ancestral faith revival, but do you think staveless runes could see some use? 🤔

On this channel we like to conduct polls from time to time. Primarily to see where you, the audience, stand on certain subjects. Another good thing about these polls, even though they do have a home-plate-advantage bias, is to see where the Pagan sphere stands. As I am aware there are extremely few who conduct polls on theological topics regarding us. We hope to set the bar high! I want to thank everybody who voted and share the poll, thank you very much!
In regards to this poll it has some surprising results. Revivalism is dominant, but that can be due to the channel's audience as a bias in the big-picture. Reconstructionists are in 2nd place with 1/5th of total respondents which is very solid. The most surprising was those who align with the New-Age, with 7% of respondents. Though it is low in this poll, it is still surprising given the positions of the channel.
Thank you again for voting in the poll your voice matters here on Pagan Revivalism
Should we do more polls here?
Give a 🗿 for yes and a 🎃 for no

Given the positive responses to polls we have conducted on this channel, we are going to have 10 polls back-to-back. The goal of these polls is to reveal to all of us in the Pagan sphere where the community stands on certain theological subjects. These polls will run until the 21st of December, Winter Solstice and the results will be published after.
There is hardly anybody interested in conducting polls on Pagans today and where they stand. Many of us assume our personal positions are the most popular, but are they? Your voice matters, because our Grand Revival should account for where we are at the present, so we can find understanding and make Pagan Revivalism inevitable!
Let us try to get as many of our folk involved, to let their voices be heard! The links for the polls are on the graphic above. If you can share these polls, so we can get as many voices as possible, it'd be greatly appreciated!
