Взрыв произошел около 10:40, когда военный проходил мимо припаркованного у дома «Фольксваген Гольфа». Взрывом генерала отбросило на несколько метров. Судя по фотографиям с места, СВУ было начинено поражающими элементами.
В 2021 году Москалик был замначальника Главного оперативного управления Генштаба ВС РФ.
