Пользователи смогут пригласить участников в звонок с помощью ссылок, QR-кодов или прямых приглашений внутри мессенджера. При этом 200 человек — это лимит для звонков любого типа, включая обычные индивидуальные вызовы, к которым теперь можно добавлять дополнительных собеседников.
По словам Дурова, новый формат звонков защищен не только сквозным абонентским шифрованием, но и технологией, похожей на блокчейн. Это обеспечивает исключение любой возможности скрытого подключения к разговору, благодаря чему звонки становятся еще безопаснее.

Messages are not fully encrypted by default. That means the company could, in theory, access the content of the messages, or be forced to hand over the data at the request of a government. On Telegram’s website, it says that Pavel Durov “supports Telegram financially and ideologically while Nikolai (Duvov)’s input is technological.” Currently, the Telegram team is based in Dubai, having moved around from Berlin, London and Singapore after departing Russia. Meanwhile, the company which owns Telegram is registered in the British Virgin Islands. Again, in contrast to Facebook, Google and Twitter, Telegram's founder Pavel Durov runs his company in relative secrecy from Dubai.
