وزارت خارجهٔ روسیه در بیانیه‌ای اعلام کرده است که به رسمیت شناختن «امارت اسلامی افغانستان» ، نامی که طالبان برای حکومت خود به کار می‌برند، به همکاری‌های دوجانبه در حوزه‌های مختلف کمک خواهد کرد.
