Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, has announced that major telecom providers in Ghana will implement changes to their data bundle packages starting July 1, 2025.

This update was revealed during a press briefing held today, June 10, 2025, at the Ministry’s Complex in Accra. The decision follows in-depth consultations with the CEOs of AirtelTigo, Telecel Ghana Limited, and Scancom Ghana Limited (MTN Ghana), aimed at improving value for consumers and tackling operational challenges within the telecom industry.

Airtel Tigo Ghana:

Old Rate - GH₵400 bundle: 195 gigabytes of data
New Rates: GH₵400 bundle: 236 gigabytes of data.
All data bundles: 10% price increase applied to existing bundles.

Telecel Ghana:

Old Rate: GH₵400 bundle: 90 gigabytes of data.

President John Mahama directs Ghana Education Service (GES) to restore Parents Teacher Associations (PTA) in Senior High Schools arguing that sidelining parents from school governance has undermined accountability and community involvement.

At a meeting with GNAT on June 11, 2025, John Mahama criticized the sidelining of PTAs, calling for their full restoration in school governance. He announced plans for teacher housing in new schools, a home ownership scheme, and a national pension review. Mahama also highlighted decentralizing school supervision, praised GNAT’s investments, and reaffirmed his commitment to teacher welfare and education quality.

On June 11, 2025, the UMaT Electoral Commission, in collaboration with the Judicial Committee of the 19th SRC, paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor to introduce themselves and discuss key challenges and progress made so far. 📢 UPSA to Enforce Dress Code Policy from July 1

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has announced that starting July 1, 2025, a task force will be deployed to enforce the institution’s dress code policy.

In a memo from the Dean of Students, management raised concerns over indecent dressing on campus and emphasized that the policy remains unchanged. Students wearing unkempt hair, shorts, nose rings, slippers, and similar attire will be denied entry into lecture halls.
