در این جلسه، ابتدا مروری بر اصول و بنیان‌های نظریۀ نسبیت خواهیم داشت. سپس با تعمیق در نتایج تجربی و تحلیل فلسفی آن‌ها نشان خواهیم داد که نه‌تنها این نظریه، وجود اِتِر را رد نمی‌کند؛ بلکه حتی برای سازگاری و همچنین وحدت با سایر چالش‌ها و حوزه‌های فیزیک، از جمله مکانیک کوانتومی، می‌تواند (و یا حتی باید) با این موجودیت همراه شود.
