Telegram has gained a reputation as the βsecureβ communications app in the post-Soviet states, but whenever you make choices about your digital security, itβs important to start by asking yourself, βWhat exactly am I securing? They now run it from Dubai, and Pavel Durov says it has more than 500 million monthly active users. So, uh, whenever I hear about Telegram, itβs always in relation to something bad. What gives? Recently, Durav wrote on his Telegram channel that users' right to privacy, in light of the war in Ukraine, is "sacred, now more than ever."
