При нем Россия стала республикой.

Ни в какое женское платье он, конечно, не переодевался. Керенский уехал из Зимнего в автомобиле в своем обычном френче.
Немного позднее, после неудачного похода с Красновым на Петроград, ему действительно пришлось для конспирации надеть форму матроса.
И дальше пробираться на Дон к Каледину.
