BREAKING: Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups were arrested Thursday in a federal sports betting investigation, law enforcement officials tell CNN Sports.

Former NBA player Damon Jones faces charges too, the officials say.

Rozier, a 10th-year NBA veteran, is accused of rigging games for bettors by sharing roster and bench info and faking an injury nine minutes into one contest, officials said.

Separately, Hall of Famer Billups—a five-time All-Star and 2004 NBA champion—joined an illegal poker ring in Manhattan, Miami, Las Vegas and the Hamptons involving members of at least three New York mafia families, officials say. Billups and Jones were paid for participating, including Jones requesting a $2,500 prepayment for one session.

According to individuals familiar with the filings, the first claim, submitted in late 2023, cites the FBI and special counsel investigations into Russian election interference and possible connections to Trump’s 2016 campaign. The second, filed in the summer of 2024, concerns the 2022 FBI search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence for classified documents and the subsequent criminal case alleging mishandling of government records. Both filings allege privacy violations and malicious prosecution, with the second also accusing federal officials of harassment intended to influence the electoral outcome.

JUST IN: New York City Mayor Eric Adams will endorse former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the race to replace him, sources in both camps tell CBS News New York's Marcia Kramer. It comes just two days before early voting starts.

Sources say Adams and Cuomo are working out a joint appearance that is expected to happen later Thursday.

The endorsement comes a night after Cuomo joined Adams courtside at the Knicks home opener following the final mayor debate.

JUST IN: President Trump has pardoned Changpeng Zhao, the convicted founder of the crypto exchange Binance, according to people familiar with the matter, following months of efforts by Zhao to boost the Trump family’s own crypto company

The president signed the pardon on Wednesday, the people said. Trump recently indicated to advisers that he was sympathetic to arguments of political persecution related to Zhao and others, one of the people said.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump had "exercised his constitutional authority by issuing a pardon for Mr. Zhao, who was prosecuted by the Biden Administration in their war on cryptocurrency."

NEW😑: Author Michael Wolff is suing Melania Trump after the first lady threatened to sue him if he didn't retract statements he made about her and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Wolff accused Melania Trump and her husband, President Donald Trump, of making a practice out of "threatening those who speak against them."

The Daily Beast published a story based on an interview with Wolff, which the outlet removed in July and ultimately apologized for, admitting it did not meet editorial standards. Melania Trump's attorney issued a legal threat challenging "the headline and framing."

Wolff had argued that the first couple seeks to punish foes by trying "to silence their speech, to intimidate their critics generally, and to extract unjustified payments and North Korean-style confessions and apologies," through legal action, according to the AP.

The author said the legal threats "are designed to create a climate of fear in the nation so that people cannot freely or confidently exercise their First Amendment rights," the AP reported.
