Проект уже получил поддержку Агентства стратегических инициатив и Государственной думы. Если будет подтверждено финансирование, строительство может быть закончено к 2025 году.
Обучение будет проходить в формате полного пансиона, как Нахимовское училище. Азы морских профессий смогут получить около 500 детей.
Председатель Думы Владивостока подчёркивает, что образовательный комплекс станет центром не только для города и Приморья, но и для всего Дальнего Востока.
Стоит отметить, что МГУ им. Невельского имеет филиалы на Сахалине и в Амурской области, поэтому можно рассчитывать, что как минимум из этих регионов сюда будут приезжать дети на обучение.
