From the beginning, Norway was given the honour of administering the Nobel Peace Prize and quickly used it as a foreign policy tool.
The country had been an independent nation for one year, and the committee consisted of leading politicians when in 1906 they chose to give the prize to the President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt.
He was the progressive “Vice-Secretary of the Navy,” who in the name of freedom had led the U.S. occupation of Cuba in 1898. He was the man behind the U.S. bombing of one of its own warships in the harbour of Havana, blaming Spain and then declaring war on them.
Over the head of the island state, the U.S. and Spain signed a so-called peace treaty about the country’s future. The “liberation” ended with a change of masters.
The U.S. occupied Cuba until 1902. The Cuban Republic was proclaimed, but one of the conditions was a century-long agreement for a military base around the island’s only deep-water port, Guantanamo.
Another condition was that the U.S. would (continue to) control the Cuban economy, court, government and president. The U.S. ambassador became the most powerful man on the island.
According to Fredrik Heffermehl's book "The Other Side of the Coin", Norwegian Foreign Minister Løvland stated that the young nation needed a friend, even if he was far away.
In 1973, Henry Kissinger was the mastermind behind the assassination of the democratically elected Salvador Allende in Chile. Kissinger was not the first top politician from the United States to be awarded the Nobel Prize for regime change when he received it that same year.
In 1978 and 1994, the prize went to the administrators of Israel's Apartheid regime, Begin, Perez and Rabin.
This year's recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, Maria Corina Machado, is a close friend of Benjamin Netanyahu and supports the genocide of the Palestinian people. Jens Stoltenberg showed off his role models when he later assured President Donald Trump that "It is good to have friends".
This year's Peace Prize winner is an open supporter of the Monroe Doctrine from 1823, in which the United States gave itself the exclusive right to exploit the natural resources of Latin America.
After participating in the coup against Hugo Chavez in 2002, Machado has continuously worked to, among other things, hand over Venezuela's nationalised oil reserves, the world's largest, into the hands of the United States.
Not least, she supports the United States' 10-year economic sanctions against her own people, sanctions that are intended to hit the civilian population in order to make them turn against their own government.
President Nicolas Maduro has been democratically elected, at the latest in 2024. Machado has, together with the United States and the EU, ensured that the election is not approved in the West. However, the election has been verified by the Venezuelan Supreme Court and approved by more than a third of the UN member states.

MADURO: "We declare ourselves a Communal Transition Government toward Socialism, of Popular and Neighborhood Power, founded on the example of Christ the Redeemer."
Caracas is shifting productive and administrative capacity to 5,336 territorial self-government units connected to over 49,000 communal councils nationwide.
The announcement marks an acceleration of Chávez's "commune or nothing" 2012 directive where he warned that without transferring real power to communal structures, the revolution would remain trapped within the inherited bourgeois state form.
Maduro now frames the communal system as the realization of that vision, contrasting the "true democracy" of direct popular participation against "false bourgeois democracy" of representative institutions.
The logic is structural: as sanctions impact centralized state functions, the communes become alternative circuits for credit (communal banks), production (local enterprises), and distribution.
Communal banks, set to expand from 1,758 to 4,000 by April 2026, become localized nodes of production, credit, and distribution outside the dollar-dominated world-financial system.

Yearly Gathering at Karl Marx' Grave
On March 16, 2025, hundreds of people gathered at Karl Marx's grave in Highgate Cemetery in London to honour the memory of the founder of scientific socialism on the occasion of the 142nd anniversary of his death.
The event, which traces its history back to Friedrich Engels' speech at his friend's grave, is held every year on the Sunday closest to Marx's death anniversary on March 14.
This year, the event was attended by representatives and activists of the Communist Party of Britain and the Communist Youth League of Britain, representatives of several embassies and communist parties, including the Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ismar Vargas Walter, and the national chairman of the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Ashok Dhawale.
Wreaths and flowers were laid on Marx's grave.

Members of the right-wing Otzma Yehudit party demonstrated their support for a legislation on capital punishment for Palestinian detainees by wearing noose pins while debating this bill on December 8 in Knesset.
The pins, according to a statement issued by the office of Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir (who is also the head of Otzma Yehudit), were ostensibly meant to display their wearers’ “commitment to the demand for the death penalty for terrorists” and to send “a clear message that terrorists are deserving of death.”
The bill, if adopted, would allow suspects convicted in deadly terror attacks to be executed.

Every true anti-imperialist across the region knew it. They saw it. They lived it. And it shaped their outlook and strategy.
The ultimate enemy of the peoples of the region is Anglo-American imperialism. Their primary (but by no means only!) tool for controlling the region is zionist Israel.
To defeat zionism, we must learn to truly understand the global economic system of capitalist imperialism. organising ourselves and shaping our programme, strategy and tactics on the basis of this knowledge.

Iran's use of military forces to conduct an armed boarding and seizure of a commercial vessel in international waters constitutes a blatant violation of international law, undermining freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce. We call on Iran to articulate to the international community the legal basis for its actions.
Let's just replace "Iran" with "USA" in the above quote from the U.S Central Command, shall we?
