🐾 The humanitarian group of Solidarity Collectives is launching a fundraiser to support an animal shelter

During our humanitarian missions, we constantly encounter one of the less visible but global crises of the war — thousands of abandoned animals in frontline communities.
Many of them were beloved pets until recently, and today they are forced to survive on their own.

Our members care deeply about their fate. We support both the people who rescue and care for animals, as well as the animals themselves directly.

This time we are raising funds for a shelter in Kyiv that takes in animals from combat zones. They urgently need to set up new spaces — a section of infectious disease quarantine boxes. One such section has 11 compartments, where adult cats or kittens can be placed.

Every animal that arrives at the shelter must undergo a two-week quarantine. Only after that can it be released into the pack and eventually adopted. That is why these boxes are critically important: they not only provide isolation, but also create additional capacity to save more animals from the war.

russia militarizes (Ukrainian) children

On the occupied territories they organise military camps where children starting age 8 are forced to go. Their Ukrainian identity is being erased, they undergo training sometimes with real weapons, they're being turned into perfect soldier that can't say "no" and don't have a mind. Very often these are abducted children that lived at children houses (aka orphanages)
Sometimes these are children who were taken from normal schools to the summer camps or "health resorts". There's no way to escape militarization in russia, especially on the occupied territories of Ukraine because the participants of "Special military operation" come to schools to talk about their "heroic" horrific deeds, they have classes of P.E. and so on.

russia creates "Yuarmiya" (youth army). Rings the bell, right? ("Hitler Jugend", in case you have troubles guessing hints like me often). And being for "traditional values" they make both girls and boys go thru the military camps

Actually the militarization starts in russia already in the birth houses. When leaving the maternity hospitals babies are being dressed into the pilot hats and tied with the symbolic for russia ww2 ribbon.

This shows why occupation is not peace, why Ukraine wants to win this war and get its territories back so badly. Because we see that russia is preparing to fight forever. And Ukraine is just the beginning.
