Obwohl erfreulich viele Kollegen dem zustimmten, wurde der Antrag doch mit u.a. mit den Stimmen der CDU/CSU am Ende abgelehnt. Schade, Chance auf zukünftige Transparenz leider verpasst!

+++ ESN Group blocks further tightening of climate targets — victory of reason over green ideology +++

Today, the Committee on Transport and Tourism voted on the opinion “Laying down the framework for achieving climate neutrality.” By a narrow majority—and thanks to the decisive votes of the ESN Group—another tightening of the climate targets was prevented.

Volker Schnurrbusch, member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism and MEP for the ESN Group, stated:

“Once again, we have succeeded at EU level in stopping an excessive tightening of climate targets. The AfD remains a strong voice for Germany’s economy and for delivering tangible relief to citizens.”

His group colleague and substitute member of the Transport Committee, Arno Bausemer, added:

“The three votes of our ESN Group tipped the balance. We stand firmly with our industry and the working population. The ideologically blinkered policy of the so-called Green Deal—and its architect, Ursula von der Leyen—has failed. We will prevent this project from causing further damage!”

The establishment of a committee of inquiry into the mRNA vaccine contracts was — despite meeting all formal requirements — blocked from being put to a vote through an opaque backroom decision.
