Как пишет «Русская служба Би-би-си», Малофеев в 2024 году подал иск в суд, заявив, что информация в книге не соответствует действительности и «порочит его честь, достоинство и деловую репутацию». Он попросил суд изъять книгу из оборота и уничтожить весь тираж без какой-либо компенсации.
Савеловский суд Москвы признал лишь одну фразу из книги «порочащей честь и достоинство» Малофеева, однако обязать издательство выпустить опровержение или уничтожить тираж отказался. Адвокаты обеих сторон подали апелляции на это решение.
