На спутниковых снимках здесь просматривается протяжённая облачная полоса полярного фронта, которая над Атлантикой, вблизи Азорских островов, переходит в облачную спираль облачной системы окклюдированного циклона. На полярном фронте формируются волны, смещающиеся на восток. Наиболее развитая волна сейчас находится над Балтикой. Тёплый фронт этой волны принёс сегодня снегопады на запад европейской территории России.
