At this weekend’s Tsa Lung Retreat on December 13-14, Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin Rinpoche will guide participants in ancient Tibetan practices that open the body, calm the mind, and awaken a deeper sense of well-being.

Tsa Lung Trul Khor, which means “the magical movements for the channels and winds”, refers to specific and, until recently, secret practices. These unique, purifying, physical exercises are designed to enhance meditation practice, especially practice in the Dzogchen style of effortlessly resting in the nature of one’s own mind. These methods have been traditionally employed by tantric yogis in the Himalayas, Zhang Zhung, and Tibet.

This weekend’s teaching is also a foundation for the practice of Tummo, which Khenpo Rinpoche is offering as a program the following weekend (Dec. 21 – 22, 2025).

Guru Padmasambhava in his secret aspect of the Lake-born Guru Saroruhavajra is depicted in
union with his consort, the Princess Mandarava of Zahor. Living together in the Maratika cave in
the mountains of Nepal, they received the transmission of the practice of immortal life from the
Buddha Amitayus himself, as well as engaging in the practices of Sukha Yoga. This seminar will
elucidate the practice of this secret aspect of the Guru according to the Dudjom Tersar tradition.

What to expect:

- By way of introduction, Khenpo Sonam Wangchuk will kindly confer us, directly from Bhutan, the lung for Jigme Lingpa's root text, including a commentary by Yonten Gyatso. Khenpo Sonam Wangchuk received this lung directly from Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and other great masters.

- The lung grants access to all teachings in this entire second part. (Those who do not receive this lung may still attend individual sessions because the teaching itself counts as a lung for the respective section; however, students will only have access to the recordings of the exact parts they attended.)

-There will be regular, ongoing Zoom teachings by Khenpo Karma
Wangyel on both the root text, as well as Yonten Gyatso's commentary.

-This comprises: A clearly structured path, first through the outer tantras (Kriya, Charya, Yoga) and then to the inner aspects of Anuttara Yoga Tantra: Mahayoga, Anuyoga and Atiyoga (Dzogchen).

-Deepening of the two essences of Dzogchen: Trekchö (cutting through attachment; view of original purity, Kadag) and Thögal (direct crossing over; view of spontaneous presence, Lhündrup).

-Khenpo Sonam Wangchuk is also expected to give us the lung for the first part. (This will allow all those who did not attend the first part concerning the Sutrayana teachings, yet would like to catch up, access to the entire recordings.)

Why this opportunity is extremely precious:

- Jigme Lingpa (1730–1798) is considered an unsurpassed Vidyādhara, Tertön and scholar, revealer of the Longchen Nyingthik. The lineage leads from the original protector Samantabhadra via Longchen Rabjam to Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and many other masters up to the present day. Such proximity to the source is rare, precious and blessed.

- Yönten Dzö is a Lamrim (gradual path) of the Nyingma tradition: from recognizing the Four Thoughts, Karma and the Four Noble Truths to the maturity of Bodhicitta practice and insight into the nature of the mind. It is suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners alike.

In particular, the exposition of Dzogchen – the heart essence of all Buddhas of the three times – reveals a direct path to the realization of Buddhahood in this very life and in this very body.

Requirements for participation in Part 2:

Either:
- Künsang Shitro Empowerment (Hundred Peaceful and Wrathful Deities)
- Karling Shitro
- Künsang Gondü (Samantabhadra) Empowerment

Or:
- Eight Kagyé empowerment
- Guhyagarbha empowerment
- Lama Norbu Gyatso empowerment
- A comparable empowerment according to the Longchen-Nyingthik/Nyingma lineage for inner tantra

Khenpo Sonam Wangchuk will also offer the lung for Part 1 (Sutrayana); recordings of previous teachings can be purchased on request.
