Invitiamo la Commissione europea a proporre il divieto giuridico vincolante delle pratiche di conversione dirette ai cittadini LGBTQ+ nell'Unione europea.
Si tratta di interventi volti a modificare, reprimere o sopprimere l'orientamento sessuale, l'identità di genere e/o l'espressione di genere delle persone LGTBQ+.
A causa della loro natura discriminatoria, degradante, dannosa e fraudolenta, tali pratiche sono equiparate alla tortura dalle Nazioni Unite e sono attualmente vietate in un numero crescente di Stati.
L'UE svolge un ruolo fondamentale nella protezione dei diritti fondamentali e dovrebbe prendere provvedimenti per combattere tutte le pratiche disumane. La Commissione dovrebbe proporre una direttiva che aggiunga le pratiche di conversione all'elenco dei reati dell'UE e/o modificare l'attuale direttiva sulla parità (2008) per includervi il divieto di tali pratiche.
Inoltre, per contrastare la moratoria legislativa, la Commissione dovrebbe anche attuare una risoluzione non vincolante che chieda il divieto generalizzato delle pratiche di conversione nell'Unione.
Infine, invitiamo la Commissione a modificare la direttiva sui diritti delle vittime al fine di stabilire norme minime in materia di diritti, assistenza e protezione delle vittime di pratiche di conversione.
Tutti gli Stati membri dovrebbero introdurre il divieto delle pratiche di conversione o rivedere le restrizioni pertinenti in vigore.
