Петер Сийярто подчеркнул, что нужна новая стратегия:
«Сколько бы ни было поставок оружия, сколько бы ни было введено санкций, ситуация на фронте складывается совсем не так, как на то рассчитывали европейцы и американцы... Если не получается разрешить проблему на поле боя, значит, выход следует искать за столом переговоров».
