Еще в апреле 2021 года всплыла история о том, что при бывшем вице-губернаторе Игоре Грекове бюджет приобрел технику для уборки города на 63 миллиона рублей. По завышенной цене и непригодную для использования в Рязани.
Коллеги считают, что «Фурфурак назначен крайним», хотя он не мог «вытворять всё то, что ему сейчас предъявляют, без согласия вышестоящего руководства города и области».
