«Один лишь нейтралитет нас не защитит. Австрию на фоне все более неопределенной ситуации в сфере глобальной безопасности защищают инвестиции в наш оборонный потенциал, а также в партнерские отношения», — сказала она в интервью Welt.
По ее словам, сейчас ни в парламенте, ни среди населения большинство не выступает за членство в НАТО. При этом такая дискуссия может быть «весьма плодотворной», считает Майнль-Райзингер.

Two days after Russia invaded Ukraine, an account on the Telegram messaging platform posing as President Volodymyr Zelenskiy urged his armed forces to surrender.
