Antarctica’s snow is no longer pristine. An international research team, including NSIDC’s Alia Khan, sampled snow across 2,000 km of Antarctica. They found 10 times higher concentrations of heavy metals in fine particles today, compared to 40 years ago: go.nature.com/45G7ArT
