Монтажные работы завершены в 23,5 тыс. кабинетах 694 школ. Также проведены необходимые модификации электросетей и расширение мощности. Это помогло охватить около 700 тыс. учеников начальной и средней школы.
Проект был начат в 2020 году, первыми в него попали помещения для проведения национального экзамена гаокао.
Кондиционирование воздуха в школах не является обязательным требованием по всей стране. Ранее китайская общественность призывала школы в Чунцине, провинциях Сычуань и Цзянси установить кондиционеры из-за нетипичной для сезона жары.
