Новый паром построен на Амурском судостроительном заводе. Судно может принять на борту сразу 200 пассажиров. Две грузовые палубы вмещают одновременно 32 железнодорожные цистерны и 12 автопоездов.
Паром обеспечит надежное транспортное сообщение между островом и материком. Ледовый класс судна позволит ему курсировать при любых погодных условиях. На линию Ванино-Холмск «Александр Деев» выйдет в ближайшее время.
