«Церковь не поддерживает не женщин, а именно праздник. Само празднование вот этой женской эмансипации, так называемой свободы. 8 Марта не связан с нашими традициями, нашей культурой, тысячелетней историей», — заявил настоятель подворья Свято-Троицкой Сергиевой лавры в Пересвете протоиерей Константин Харитонов.
По его мнению, женщины должны равняться на Богородицу, святых жен, а не на Клару Цеткин.
