ВМС США 8 мая подтвердили продолжение работ над морской крылатой ракетой с ядерной боевой частью SLCM-N, предназначенной для размещения на многоцелевых атомных подводных лодках типа «Вирджиния». Ракета призвана обеспечить скрытный потенциал второго эшелона ядерного удара и пополнит состав нестратегического ядерного оружия США.
🔷 Комплекс разрабатывается Управлением стратегических систем ВМС США и станет заменой снятой с вооружения в 1992 году ракеты TLAM-N.
🔵 Программа одобрена в Обзоре ядерной политики США 2018 года и реализуется после выхода США из ДРСМД. На разработку ракеты и боевой части W80-4 выделено $2,4 млрд.

Such instructions could actually endanger people — citizens receive air strike warnings via smartphone alerts.
