‘DIRECT THREAT’: Officers open fire on a U-Haul truck after the driver ignores “multiple verbal commands” to stop as it reverses into the entrance of a U.S. Coast Guard base in California.

The U.S. Coast Guard says the truck was “driving erratically and attempting to back into the base,” and confirms no personnel were injured.

The incident follows a protest at the base entrance, where demonstrators tried to block Border Patrol agents from entering.

On Thursday morning, ICE officers initiated a vehicle stop in Avondale, AZ. The target’s vehicle failed to stop, and the driver and passenger attempted to return to the residence.

The target weaponized his vehicle in an attempt to evade arrest. The two men fled from the vehicle and barricaded themselves in the residence.

Officers immediately established a perimeter and requested backup by local law and federal law enforcement partners. Two ICE officers involved were taken to the hospital for medical evaluation – they are expected to be released without serious injuries.
