Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets. Putin added that discussions were happening "almost on a daily basis." Russian President Vladimir Putin launched Russia's invasion of Ukraine in the early-morning hours of February 24, targeting several key cities with military strikes. In a message on his Telegram channel recently recounting the episode, Durov wrote: "I lost my company and my home, but would do it again – without hesitation." The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been a driving force in markets for the past few weeks. Pavel Durov, Telegram's CEO, is known as "the Russian Mark Zuckerberg," for co-founding VKontakte, which is Russian for "in touch," a Facebook imitator that became the country's most popular social networking site.
