این روزها در فضای مجازی بحث تجاوز و آزار جنسی دوباره مطرح شده است. آزار جنسی طیف وسیعی از رفتار آزاردهنده است که انتهای آن تجاوز است اما حتی خیره شدن به اندام، ایجاد ناامنی روانی، آزار کلامی، مزاحمت‌های خیابانی و لمس کردن فرد، همگی گونه‌هایی از آزار جنسی هستند که باید با آن‌ها مقابله کرد.
شاید اگر این آگاهی عمومی در جامعه وجود داشته باشد که مبنا و اساس هر سطحی از رابطه جنسی، مانند هر ارتباط انسانی دیگری، «توافق» طرفین است «بخشی» از این حوادث ناگوار پیش نیاید. حوادثی که آثار مخرب‌شان تا سال‌ها بر جسم و روان قربانیان می‌ماند.

Telegram, which does little policing of its content, has also became a hub for Russian propaganda and misinformation. Many pro-Kremlin channels have become popular, alongside accounts of journalists and other independent observers. Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. For instance, in September 2021, Telegram reportedly blocked a chat bot in support of (Putin critic) Alexei Navalny during Russia’s most recent parliamentary elections. Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores. Telegram boasts 500 million users, who share information individually and in groups in relative security. But Telegram's use as a one-way broadcast channel — which followers can join but not reply to — means content from inauthentic accounts can easily reach large, captive and eager audiences. On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations. The news also helped traders look past another report showing decades-high inflation and shake off some of the volatility from recent sessions. The Bureau of Labor Statistics' February Consumer Price Index (CPI) this week showed another surge in prices even before Russia escalated its attacks in Ukraine. The headline CPI — soaring 7.9% over last year — underscored the sticky inflationary pressures reverberating across the U.S. economy, with everything from groceries to rents and airline fares getting more expensive for everyday consumers.
