اکسیوس، به نقل استیو ویتکاف، نماینده آمریکا در مذاکرات با جمهوری اسلامی، گزارش داد آمریکا در تلاش است دور چهارم گفت‌وگوهای هسته‌ای با ایران را برای آخر این هفته برنامه‌ریزی کند.
در این گزارش به نقل از ویتکاف آمده: «اگر این گفت‌وگو برگزار نشود، تنها دلیلش سفر رییس‌جمهور به خاورمیانه خواهد بود.»
ویتکاف ضمن مثبت خواندن مذاکرات با تهران، افزود: «به پیشرفت‌هایی دست یافته‌ایم. امیدوارم روند در مسیر درستی پیش برود. رییس‌جمهور می‌خواهد اگر ممکن باشد، این مساله به‌صورت دیپلماتیک حل شود، بنابراین ما هر کاری از دستمان برمی‌آید انجام می‌دهیم تا این روند به جریان بیفتد.»
