«Должны быть приняты или не приняты очень важные решения о том, готовы ли мы предоставить реальные средства, например замороженные российские активы, на поддержку Украины, готовы ли мы дать Украине один год на усиление ее переговорных позиций», — сказал Сикорский в эфире телеканала TVN.
После начала специальной военной операции России на Украине в феврале 2022 года ЕС и страны G7 заморозили почти половину валютных резервов РФ на сумму около €300 млрд. Большая часть замороженных российских активов находится в бельгийской Euroclear, одной из крупнейших в мире систем расчетов и клиринга. Прибыль от них по итогам 2023 года составила €4,4 млрд, а за первые 6 месяцев 2024-го — еще €1,74 млрд.
