Russia, Ukraine Swap 150 POWs In First Exchange In Months

Zelensky and his Western backers, especially the US and UK, have long claimed that it's 'impossible' to sit down with Russia at the negotiating table. Zelensky even just six months into the war had vowed not to re-enter negotiations with Moscow until Putin is no longer in power.

But as if inadvertently illustrating that negotiations are actually very possible and within reach, Ukraine has announced a successful major prisoner swap, which is a first in nearly four months.

Robert Costello, a former legal adviser to ex-Trump fixer Michael Cohen, said the judge in President Trump’s hush money trial “totally overreacted” while admonishing him for his courtroom behavior during his testimony.

Costello pointed out several instances he believes Judge Juan Merchan targeted him during his time in the Manhattan courtroom. One instance involved the judge allegedly accusing the witness of trying to stare him down.

“I guess I muttered … ‘Jeez’ … That’s all I did. The judge then went on a rant … I had to turn to my right to look at him,” Costello told hosts John Catsimatidis and Rita Cosby Friday on the “Cats and Cosby Show.” “That’s what you normally do when somebody’s speaking to you.”

He continued, “He immediately said, ‘Are you trying to stare me down?’… [I said], ‘No. Can I explain?’ And he said, ‘No. This is not a discussion.'”

Costello added that the judge also alleged that he rolled his eyes — which he argued, Merchan wouldn’t have been able to see.

World leaders rush to Trump’s defense after guilty verdict

Some, like pro-Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage called the verdict a “disgrace,” which was in marked contrast to leader of Britain’s opposition Labour Party Keir Starmer, who said his party “respects” the court’s decision.

The Kremlin said on Friday that the verdict demonstrated the Biden administration‘s efforts to eliminate political opponents for personal gain.

“If we speak about Trump, the fact that there is simply the elimination, in effect, of political rivals by all possible means, legal and illegal, is obvious,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. “That is evident to everyone, to the whole world, with the naked eye.”

Matteo Salvini, the current deputy prime minister of Italy and leader of the right-wing Lega party, offered his “solidarity and full support” to Trump on X, soon after Trump’s guilty verdicts were read.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who has publicly endorsed Trump in the 2024 election, also rushed to his side, describing him as a “man of honour’ on social media.
