С октября 2017-го по сентябрь 2018 года временно исполнял обязанности губернатора Приморского края. В 2018–2020 годах был заместителем руководителя Росморречфлота. В 2020–2023 годах занимал должность председателя правительства Республики Саха (Якутия). С ноября 2023 года работал заместителем генерального директора ФГУП «Нацрыбресурс».
Захарий Джиоев освобожден от должности руководителя Росморречфлота по его просьбе.
