Telegram does offer end-to-end encrypted communications through Secret Chats, but this is not the default setting. Unlike Facebook, Twitter and other popular social networks, there is no advertising on Telegram and the flow of information is not driven by an algorithm. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been a driving force in markets for the past few weeks.
