وكان طلحة بن مُصرِّف إذا ذُكِرَ عنده اختلاف العلماء قال: «لا تقولوا: الاختلاف، ولكن قولوا: ألسعة».
وقال الماجشون: «إن الناس اختلفوا، ونحن نرجو أن يكون ما كان من اختلافهم سعةً لمن بعدهم». قال ابن قدامة: «فإن الاختلاف في الفروع رحمة، والمختلفون فيه محمودون في اختلافهم ، مثابون في اجتهادهم، واختلافهم رحمة واسعة، وتفاقهم حجة قاطعة».
وختامًا قالت أم تيمية: «المسائل الخلافية في الشرع مش ساهلة».
