Мероприятие собралось более 100 неравнодушных жителей области. Выразить свою поддержку жителям Донбасса пришли и депутаты Городской Думы Южно-Сахалинска.
Для собравшихся на митинге были организованны полевые кухни и выступления народных коллективов.
«Сегодня мы собрались здесь, чтобы сказать «Добро пожаловать домой, Донбасс!». Они со страхом в сердце, но с мужеством принимают судьбоносное решение. И мы говорим, что мы с вами. Мы поддерживаем вас. И чтобы не было — Россия должна быть единой!»

It is unclear who runs the account, although Russia's official Ministry of Foreign Affairs Twitter account promoted the Telegram channel on Saturday and claimed it was operated by "a group of experts & journalists." Sebi said data, emails and other documents are being retrieved from the seized devices and detailed investigation is in progress. Telegram was co-founded by Pavel and Nikolai Durov, the brothers who had previously created VKontakte. In 2016, Forbes’ Michael Solomon described Pavel Durov (pictured, below) as the “Mark Zuckerberg of Russia.” At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised. Also in the latest update is the ability for users to create a unique @username from the Settings page, providing others with an easy way to contact them via Search or their t.me/username link without sharing their phone number.
