Появился в 1918 году как «Судосталь». В 1927-м переименован в «Красный двигатель». Выпускал в разные годы запчасти для сельхозтехники, сковородки, кофеварки, поршни, садово-художественное литье, запчасти для «Жигулей» и т.д. Поставлял продукцию в 74 страны мира. Обанкротился в 2004 году. В декабре 2017 года адрес организации исключен из реестра ФНС.
