В рамках празднования Дня окончания Ленинградской битвы председатель комитета по внешним связям Ленинградской области Олег Коновалов принял участие в церемонии возложения цветов к мемориалу в честь 80-летия полного освобождения Ленинграда от вражеской блокады в Военно-историческом музее артиллерии, инженерных войск и войск связи в Санкт-Петербурге. В основе мемориала – подлинная реликвия Великой Отечественной войны, железобетонная огневая точка, доставленная с Синявинских высот.

Мероприятие с участием консульского корпуса, аккредитованного в Санкт-Петербурге, организовано Представительством Министерства иностранных дел Российской Федерации в Санкт-Петербурге. Программа включала кинопоказ отреставрированного фильма «Жила-была девочка» 1944 года о детях, переживших блокаду Ленинграда.
