Хлорпикрин относится ко II классу опасности. Он внесен в список Конвенции о запрещении химического оружия. При нагревании до 400 °С разлагается с образованием фосгена — бесцветного газа с запахом прелого сена или гниющих фруктов, являющегося отравляющим веществом удушающего действия.
Схрон находился около села Ильинка в Краховском районе. Возбуждено уголовное дело по статье о накоплении и сбыте оружия массового поражения.
