Работино было одним из укрепрайонов российских вооруженных сил на Ореховском направлении. 23 августа главнокомандующий ВСУ Валений Залужный опубликовал видео с поднятием украинского флага над зданием школы в Работино. Предположительно, именно в этот день село было полностью освобождено.
