در نگاه اول درست به نظر می‌رسد که هر کسی حق دارد نظر خودش را داشته باشد. اما این عبارت نیازمند افزودن قیودی ست. هیچ قدرتی حق ندارد ما را مجبور کند که عقیده ی خاصی داشته باشیم. اما این بدان معنی نیست که تمام این نظرات به یک اندازه هوشمندانه ، عملی و انسانی هستند. برخی نظرات به قدری بد ، احمقانه و خطرناک هستند که واقعن براحتی نمیشود گفت که فرد حق دارد به آنها معتقد باشد . آیا اگر کسی فکر کند که می شود به محض خنده چشم سگ را از حدقه درآورد؟
