کتاب‌خوندن به خودی خود هدف نیست و هیچ اهمیتی نداره. کتاب‌خوندن اگر در اولین قدم ما رو به این آگاهی که ما چقدر کم و کوچیک و حقیریم و چقدر سواد و آگاهی‌مون کمه نرسونه، چه فایده‌ای داره؟ کتاب‌خوندنی که برای رشد و تعالی نباشه و خود همون کتاب‌خوندنه بشه هدف، بشه سوژهٔ فخرفروشی، بشه ژست، بشه ادا اصول، بشه عکس‌های خوشگل اینستایی، بشه تبختر و گرازیدن :) بشه عدد به‌شکلی که بخوایم بگیم امسال nتعداد کتاب خوندم، چه فایده‌ای داره؟ کتاب‌خون‌بودنی که بخواد به جای خودمون، بقیه رو در چشم ما حقیر جلوه بده و نگاهمون رو از بالا به پایین کنه، چه فایده‌ای داره؟ اگه یه کتابی رو بخونی و به جای دعوت بقیه به خوندنش به بقیه بگی ببینید من چقدر خفنم که فلان کتاب رو خونده‌م و خاک تو سر شماها که نخوندید، این یعنی ما اون کتاب رو نخوندیم که چیزی بهمون اضافه بشه بلکه خوندیمش که پزش رو بدیم و فخرشو بفروشیم و غریزهٔ خودبرتربینی و غرورمون رو باهاش ارضا کنیم.
