🔹این مطالعه در بیمارستانی وابسته به دانشگاه بریتیش کلمبیا با بررسی بافت ریه ۲۱ فرد مبتلا به کرونا و دارای COPD با افراد سالم صورت گرفته است.
🔹در این بررسی شدت آسیب ریه با میزان بیان ژن آنزیم ACE2 ارتباط مستقیم داشته است.
🔹این نتایج با افزودن نتایج دو مطالعه دیگر با تعداد ۲۵۰ بیمار در مورد مصرف سیگار مجدد تایید شده است .
🔹محققین توصیه می کنند ابتلا به COPD و سیگاری بودن فعلی به عنوان دو فاکتور خطر مجزا برای بالا بودن ACE2 و ابتلا به فرم شدید کرونا باید در نظر گرفته شود.
🔹ترک سیگار با کاهش ACE2 می تواند افراد سیگاری را در برابر ورود راحت ویروس کرونا به بدنشان محافظت کند.
